The Colin Chataway Trophy

The Colin Chataway Trophy
The Colin Chataway Trophy organised by The Dorset Captains was
inaugurated in 1982 with the aim of encouraging Junior competition and helping
boys and girls aged 16 and under with their Etiquette and interpretation of the
Rules of Golf.
Golf Clubs throughout Dorset are invited to enter one or two teams of four
players to contest this stableford team event.
The team with the highest aggregate of the four scores wins the
competition.
Each playing group, which comprises four Junior players from different Clubs,
is accompanied by a member of the Dorset Captains to advise them as necessary.
The event is hosted by a different golf club in the county each year; this year (2012) it is being played at Bulbury Woods Golf Club on Friday 12th August
The event has proved to be very popular with competitors - it is played in a
competitive spirit whilst also fulfilling its educational aims.
Indeed, its alumnae include a number of current tournament professionals,
club professionals and county players.
Entry is by invitation in April each year. Further information can be obtained from
